This piece is based on Shakespeare’s sonnet 102 where the poet questions the limits of love, his love towards his lover and vice versa.

I had made the lyrics into a song for a choir and then decided to re-write for solo viola, so I was left with the Impression of the poem and my first composition.

It is a song for the viola, sometimes sobbing, sometimes gathering the thoughts and accepting reality.

The performer becomes very expressive with the piece, manipulating the tempo and the intonation if desired.
